PURPOSE:To improve the luminance of a picture and the rate of contrast, by landing two electron beams with switching based on an index signal obtained from an index line. CONSTITUTION:Index lines 35 consecutive along the horizontal scanning direction are arranged vertically. Color fluorescent lines 31-33 having different colors are arranged along both sides of each index line 35 to form a screen 23. Further, the screen 23 is scanned with two electron beams and the two electron beams are landed switchingly at each field at every fluorescent lines 31-33 based on the index signal obtained from the index line 35. The color switching is done at each fluorescent line at the same time to attain the reproduction of line sequential color picture by means of two-color simultaneous illumination. |
