SELF ACTUATING YARN FEED AND DRIVE BELT ARRANGEMENT FOR CIRCULAR KNITTING MACHINES

A yarn friction feed wheel(18,19) for a knitting machine comprises a yarn guide(89) that delivers the yarn to the level of an upper high-friction (yarn-feeding)sufrface on the wheel. The whell also has a lower low-friction(non-feeding)surface. The sample yarn feeder can feed tha yarn by placing tension on it so that it is drawn onto the high friction surface. By releasing the tensin, the yarn slips down onto the non feedinf surface. The yarn can be fed to a striping box on the knitting machine.
