PURPOSE:To reduce the strain of a tightened cylinder head, by sticking copper sheets to both the sides of a gasket around each of some of the bolt holes of the gasket and using bolts to tighten the cylinder head with the gasket and the copper sheets. CONSTITUTION:From bolt holes 8, a number of butt holes 8a and tip holes 8b which surround the projections of through holes 7 of a gasket 5 are selected. Copper sheets of 0.15 to 0.2mm. in thickness each are stuck to both the sides of the gasket around the selected bolt holes 8a, 8b. A cylinder head is tightened with the gasket and the copper sheets by bolts. This results in diminishing the deterioration of the corresponding sections of the gasket 5 to reduce the strain of the cylinder head itself. |
