PURPOSE:To reduce the processing time, by receiving directly a transaction medium at a sub-control section without waiting for the receiving command from a main control section, when the sub-control section of a transaction medium receiving unit detects the loading of the transaction medium. CONSTITUTION:The main control section 11 transmits a diagnostic command whether units 3-15, 17-19 have a failure or not to unit control sections 12- 16 at the waiting of an user in an automatic transaction device, and if there exists no failure as the result of response from each control section, a card receiving permission command is given to a card control section 14 in advance. When it is detected at a detector 9 that a card is inserted to an insertion slit 6 in this state, the control section 14 opens a shutter 10 and receives the inserted card in a card reader unit 17 and it is returned to the main control section 11. Thus, card inserting is processed speedily, and the card is received smoothly. Then, the main control section 11 transmits a card reading command to the control sectior 14, which reads information from the card via the unit 17 and the result is given to the main control section 11. |
