PURPOSE:To simplify an AF camera, by using the power transmitting member of a camera body for discriminating the kind of lens mounted on the camera body. CONSTITUTION:This camera has a discriminating means to discriminate the kind of lens 1 mounted on a camera body 2, distance measuring means for defocusing- directional, and distance measuring means 8 for defocusing distance DELTAL. When the deciding means 8 decides that a lens 1 mounted on the camera body 3 is an automatic focusing lens, the direction of defocusing and distance are detected by a distance measuring means 8. On the other hand, when the deciding means decides that the lens 1 is focus aid lens, only the direction of defocusing is detected by the distance measuring means 8. |
