PURPOSE:To read information on a form, etc., speedily and accurately by making one or plural thin and long linear display bodies on a screen visible and displaying index lines selectively. CONSTITUTION:A number recorded on a mcrofilm F is lightened by an illumination lamp 5 and projected on the screen 14 to enlarged scale through a lens system and a reflecting mirror system. When an observer desires to read some numbers in the projected picture, for example, numbers on the 5th and the 8th lines, transparent electrodes 16 and 18 corresponding to the 5th and the 8th lines are conducted to visualize only the part of liquid crystal 17 encircled with the selected transparent electrodes 16 and 18, and index lines are displayed under the numbers on the 5th and the 8th lines on the screen 14. When the index lines are not necessary, the transparent electrodes 16 and 18 corresponding to all lines are only nonconductive and the screen in this case is not different from a normal screen. |
