PURPOSE:To detect only the information hole of a film securely, by providing a light emitting element in a sprocket for advancing the film, and guiding the light emitted from the element through a light guide hole perforated centripetally in the sprocket. CONSTITUTION:A film information reader is provided on the film take-up side of a camera body 6, and the reader is provided with the sprocket 7 which advances the film 11 by hooking an advance pawl 7a in a perforation 11b of the film 11, and the light emitting element 8. This reader comprises plural light guide holes 7b perforated in the sprocket 7 centripetally, a photodetecting element 9 for code reading provided on a camera back 10 to photodetects the light from the light emitting element 8 through the light guide holes 7b and information holes 11c of the film 11c, and a photodetecting element 12 for synchronizing signal generation provided to the camera body 6 to photodetect light passed through the light guide holes 7b. |
