PURPOSE:To enhance the efficiency of a synchronous machine and to eliminate a danger of the overheat of the machine by forming a recess which suppresses the radial outside of a field coil on a pole, and forming the field coil suppression unit of the outer peripheral side of the recess of a nonmagnetic material, thereby reducing the leakage magnetic flux at the end of an armature core. CONSTITUTION:A pole head 5a corresponding to an armature core 1 is substantially entirely formed by laminating a thin iron plate 5. The outer peripheral side head 6a of a terminal board is formed, for example, of a nonmagnetic stainless steel, the other part 6c of the terminal board is formed of a rolled steel plate, forged steel or cast steel, by integrally welding. The outer peripheral side head 6a of the board is opposed in length not longer than an air gap (g) of the core 1. |
