PURPOSE:To prevent irregular combustion or increased hydrocarbon emission from being caused by excessive mixture thickening at reacceleration, by providing a changeover valve in an air vent passage to switch a float chamber to a place downstream to a Venturi section when the load upon an engine has become lower. CONSTITUTION:The float chamber 8 of a carburetor 7 is connected to a place upstream to a Venturi section through an air vent means 9. A passage 10 for connecting the float chamber 8 to said place is provided with a branch passage 12 for switching the float chamber to a place downstream to the Venturi section through a changeover valve 11, which opens the branch passage when the load upon an engine has decreased. When a throttle valve 16 is closed at deceleration, the changeover valve 11 switches the float chamber 8 to the place downstream to the Venturi section through the branch passage 12 so that pressurized air from a supercharger which continues to rotate for a while under the deceleration is not supplied into the float chamber 8. |
