PURPOSE:To provide a base body of ion electrode improved in the response speed, reducibility and stability of a balanced potential value by welding metal material such as iron, copper, nickel, platinum and chromium on an electrode substrate made of a platinum-based metal material. CONSTITUTION:An ion electrode base body 10 is constructed by welding a response-improved member 12 made of a metal material on an electrode substrate 11 with a desired shape of a line, bar, disc or the like made of platinum based metal material. The platinum-based metal refers to a platinum group metal and an alloy thereof. The metal material to be welded on the electrode substrate 11 is metal such as platinum iron, copper, nickel, chromium, cobalt and aluminum or an alloy thereof regardless of type thereof. The perimeter of the ion electrode base body 10 is covered with an insulator 13 such as polyolefine and tefron. The tip surface of the electrode base body 11 is exposed and a polymer film 21 derived from a hydroxy aromatic compound or an aromatic compound containing nitrogen is applied direct on the exposed surface thereby an ion electrode 20 is formed. |
