PURPOSE:To suppress the generation of overrun due to congestion of communication traffic, by providing a traffic restricting function to a communication controller, in an on-line system of a call and response type making communication between an electronic computer and plural terminals via the communication controller. CONSTITUTION:The number of line connecting mechanisms LS under communication at present is arranged to a communication link number counter 7 from a control section CTL2' of the communication controller, and the location of the LS under communication at present is arranged to a lines under communication display register 10. The position of important lines is set to an important line display register 9 and the working position of the LS is set to a working line display register 11. A comparator 8 compares a counted value of the counter 7 with a predetermined traffic restricting value. A gate 12 outputs the position of LS in the registers 9, 11 when the counted value is smaller, and outputs the position of LS of the registers 9, 10 when the counted value is larger. The output of the gate 12 is inputted to a line control section LC via a register 13. |
