PURPOSE:To make it possible to use a shift range for both plus and minus ranges, by mounting a case of a continuously variable transmission on another gear box in such a manner that an input shaft and an output shaft are inverted to each other. CONSTITUTION:An input shaft 2 and an output shaft 3 are coaxially arranged with respective shaft ends projected out of a case 1. An input disc 4 connected with the input shaft 2 is arranged in opposed relationship to a cam disc 5 connected with the output shaft 3. In assembling a continuously variable transmission N with a gar box G, the output shaft 3 of the continuously variable transmission N is engaged with an input transmitting shaft 12 in the gear box G by splines or like, thus establishing power connection. Accordingly, the continuously variable transmission N may be mounted in a forward or reverse direction only by mounting or demounting same. Thus, a shift range may be used double, namely, for both plus and minus ranges.
