PURPOSE:To prevent casualties of a pedestrian due to collision against a car and tumbling, by providing a guide member for supporting the hood displacable obliquely while bringing the rear end upward and guiding the rear end of hood obliquely upward when displacing. CONSTITUTION:When a pedestrian collides against a car and lifted by the front bumper to collide against the front end of hood, rearward load is applied on the hood. If the virtual line 21 contacting with the leading edge of bumper 20 and the front end of hood 4 is inclined considerably rearward, as shown on the drawing, the load to be applied at the front end of hood 4 will be the rear downward load Fa vertical against the virtual line 21. Consequently the load Fa is applied on the hood 4 and as shown on the drawing the hood striker 51 will guide the rear end section obliquely upward while sliding with the lock rachet 9 by moving the leading edge of hood 4 rear downward. |
