PURPOSE:A deodorant that contains 6-substituted or 3,6-disubstituted-1-hydroxypyridone or its salt as an active ingredient, thus showing high effect of deodorizing smells caused by sweatening, with high safety. CONSTITUTION:The objective deodorant contains, as active ingredients, a compound of the formula (R1 is 1-17C alkyl, 2-17C alkenyl, 5-8C cycloalkyl, 7-9C bicycloalkyl, cycloalkyl-1-4C alkyl which may bear 1-4C alkyl, aryl, aralkyl in which the alkyl has 1-4 carbon atoms, aryl-2-4C-alkenyl, aryloxy- 1-4C-alkyl; R2 is H, 1-4C alkyl, 2-4C alkenyl or alkinyl, halogen, phenyl, benzyl) or its salt, preferably further, an astringent salt selected from the group consisting of aluminum, zirconium and zinc, thus showing high deodorant activity. |
