PURPOSE:To switch a finishing line for a rod material speedily according to the kind of the rod material by rocking a cooling pipe between a position where the rod material passes in the pipe and a stand-by position. CONSTITUTION:When a rod material which does not require water cooling is conveyed to the finishing line, the piston rod 65 of an air cylinder 64 is moved out, a turning plate 44 is turned to extend the top surface of a guide table 41 into a conveyance area, and the water cooling pipe 7 is set at the stand-by position. When rod steel which requires the water cooling is conveyed, the piston rod 65 is moved back, the turning plate 44 is turned to place the guide table 41 at an upper stand-by position, and the water cooling pipe 7 is extended into the rod steel conveyance area. The rod steel is guided to a guide member, inserted into the water cooling pipe 7, and passed in injected cooling water. Then, it is conveyed to a roll table part and further conveyed to a next water cooling pipe 7. |
