PURPOSE:To reduce production cost and make structure compact, by providing two forward rotation units and two reverse rotation units in both deceleration reversing devices, respectively. CONSTITUTION:Two engines C and c rotating in the same direction are connected through separated deceleration reversing devices D and d to two propeller shafts E and e, respectively. Two forward rotation units F and f and two reverse rotation units G and g are mounted in both the deceleration reversing devices D and d, respectively. Each of the units F, f, G and g has common dimensional specifications, and the forward rotation units F(f) of one of the deceleration reversing devices D(d) is designed to be operated simultaneously with the reverse rotation units g(G) of the other of the deceleration reversing devices d(D). Accordingly, a double-engine and double-shaft type ship propelling apparatus may be constituted with the use of the engines C and c and the deceleration reversing devices D and d of the same specifications, thus making equipments and parts common and reducing production cost. |
