The present invention relates to a fuel injection nozzle, especially for an internal-combustion engine. The injection needle (4) controls the injection of fuel by way of an atomizer (9) through which runs a centre duct (10) coaxially with the longitudinal centre line (X-X') of the housing (2) and the side wall (11) of which is perforated by a number of cylindrical atomising or nebulising bores (12), especially ones aligned radially, which open on the one hand into the centre duct (10) and on the other into the combustion chamber (8), the atomizer (9) according to the invention being designed in such a way that the fuel jet in the chamber (8) has an elongate, in particular an elliptical cross section, the longer centre axis of which lies in a plane essentially perpendicular to the longitudinal centre line with the injection nozzle. The invention has applications in the manufacture of internal-combustion engines. <IMAGE>
