摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain a novel optical deflector which can be easily realized at a low cost, by providing a spinner and a rotating means to said deflector, and rotating the spinners disposed with >=1 reflection segments of a micro sawtooth shape in the sectional shape of a specular surface. CONSTITUTION:A spinner 1 is of a disc shape, and is disposed with reflection segments S1, S2,... in a toric shape on a discoid substrate 10. The segments S, etc. are all the same, and the sectional shape of the specular surface thereof is of a micro sawtooth shape. When a light beam 6 to be deflected is made into parallel luminous fluxes and is made incident to the reflection segments on the spinner 1, reflected luminous fluxes 7 are generated by the reflection segments. The fluxes 7 are reflected by a reflecting mirror 3 and are made incident to an ftheta lens 4, by which the fluxes are made into a near parabolic scanning luminous flux 8 which are focused on a surface 5 to be scanned. When the spinner 1 is turned clockwise by a motor 2, the segments Si turn as well, and the fluxes 7 are rotated precessionally around the incident position of the beam 6, thus rotating the flux 8 clockwise. The spotlike focusing point of the flux 8 moves from above to below on the surface 5 and scans the surface 5.
