PURPOSE:A specific pasty composition mainly containing an extract of hibiscus is treated with an aqueous solution containing distilled oleic acid, higher fatty alcohol, glycerol and potassium carbonate, then with bentonite to give the titled pharmaceutical preparation effective on athlete's foot. CONSTITUTION:Distilled oleic acid, higher fatty alcohol and glycerol are added, in the form of a mixture, to aqueous potassium carbonate to prepare potassium salts of fatty acid and carbonic acid. In the meantime, an extract of hibiscus is added to a mixture of salicylic acid and glycerol and the mixture is combined with aqueous citric acid to prepare a pasty composition free from the rotting of the extract and viscosity reduction. The resultant composition is used as a base and combined with the above potassium salt and further with bentonite kneaded with water to give the objective paste for curing athlete's foot, which readily extends on the diseased parts and permeates into skins and dries rapidly, when applied. |
