PURPOSE:To ensure the accurate beam landing of each line and to simplify the circuit constitution despite the inferior vertical deflection linearity, by compensating the beam position from an error of beam position set before a 1H delay when the horizontal scan is started. CONSTITUTION:Plural belt-shaped color fluorescent material lines 3 are extended toward an arrow X, i.e., the main scanning direction of an electron beam on the inner surface of a screen 2 which functions as a display screen of a CRT. At the same time, odd and even numbers of field lines are arrayed alternately with a fixed pitch P toward an arrow Y in the secondary scanning direction orthogonal to the lines 3. Then a guard band 4 having no emission of light is formed between lines 3, and furthermore an index line 5 is formed with every 2nd band 4. A beam position compensation control circuit detects the volume of the electron beam to the line 5 and compensates the electron beam position in the secondary scanning direction. The lines 3 which are contiguous to each other at one side of the line 5 are defined as odd field drives while defining the adjacent lines 3 at the other side of the line 5 as even field drives respectively. |
