PURPOSE:To make the constitution of an optical system extremely simple and to improve the accuracy of detection, by detecting the focusing state from the transverse deviation of the images basing on the luminous fluxes from the respective regions by the devision of the exit pupil of an imaging optical system. CONSTITUTION:The luminous fluxes form a photographic lens 1 passes through the respective regions of a right half and a left half bordering at an optical axis 0, and the luminous past said region is separated by the 1st prism 10 and the 2nd prism 10'. The separated luminous fluxes are projected on the respective photodetector arrays 13, 13' consisting of plural photodetectors 13-1-13-N or 13'-1-13'-N arranged near the imaging position. If the output distributions of the arrays 13, 13' are compared by an optical known method, the focusing state on the intended imaging plane of the lens 1 is easily detected. |
