PURPOSE:To obtain a spacing control method having a reduced power source capacity for driving head pin and capable of giving legible printing output with fixed printing pressure by using a system in which the feeding speed of space between dots is altered on the dot density. CONSTITUTION:When printing data are taken out of a buffer 5 to a data latch 6, the data are sent even to a dot density recognition circuit 9 to judge whether the printing speed is needed to be altered or not. The circuit 9 gives an indication of controlling the timing of low-printing speeds to MPU10 when printing data are of high dot density beyond a given value. Threshold value (given value) to be set in the circuit 9 and the operation speed of low-speed printing to be indicated to the space controller 11 are set up in such a way as to minimize the deceleration rate to a necessary extent in relation to normal speed by making allowance for power source capacity and printing quality. |
