PURPOSE:To enable long-term storage of a column packed with a packing material by evacuating the column and sealing an inert gas when the chromatographic packed column is stored alone. CONSTITUTION:When the packed column is stored for a long-term, packings 14, 16 are inserted, caps 15, 17 are fixed with a cap nut 13 tightly to insulate the packing material from the external air. An injection rubber packing 19 is fixed to the cap 17 with a nut 18. An injection needle 21 is penetrated in the packing 19 and the gas is drawn out of the column with a vacuum pump or the like through the needle 21. After the evacuation, the inert gas is introduced reversely through the needle 21. Such a cap having a structure capable of drawing out air or the like from the column, and sealing an inert gas in a simple manner is installed to the column, thus permitting long-term storage of the column. |
