摘要 The invention relates to a process for preparing molten silicon-containing master alloys of leboite composition in induction crucible furnaces. Such alloys are used in metallurgy as silicon carriers for alloying molten crude iron and steel with silicon. The object of the invention is to develop an efficient process for preparing molten silicon-containing master alloys, which starts exclusively from the use of solid, lumpy, commercially available standard ferrosilicon grades. According to the invention, the object is achieved when, as starting materials, at least two different standard ferrosilicon grades, of which one has an Si content of </= 50% and the other has an Si content of >/= 60%, are employed and fused in the induction crucible furnace in such a mutual ratio that the filled furnace, ready for tapping, contains a melt having a silicon concentration which corresponds to the leboite composition according to the Fe-Si phase diagram, i.e. 53.5-56.5% of Si.
