A device (10) for coupling a tractor (12) to a trailer (14) comprises a tow hitch (16) connected to a trailer beam (18). The tow hitch (16) has a post (38) having slots (40) and an axle for mounting on a cross beam connected by beams (22) to a bracket (28). A trailer beam (18) has a secondary beam (44) each beam having mounting plates for hinged seating in the slots (40).
