1. A vice having a stationary jaw (2), a jaw (3) which is movable along a bed, and a pair of components (5, 7) which consists of an inclined screw spindle (5) and a spindle nut (7) and of which one component (5) is supported on the movable jaw (3) for the swingable mounting of the pair of components (5, 7) and the other (7) can be anchored by means of a transverse pin (17) in a selected groove of a series, extending in the direction of movement of the movable jaw (3), of downwardly-open transverse grooves (20, 21, 22) of the bed (1), and with a spring (18) which loads the pair of components (5, 7) in the direction of their swivel movement directed at the fixed jaw (2), characterised in that the component (5), supported on the movable jaw (3), of the pair of components (3, 5), is held so as to be axially non-displaceable. |
