PURPOSE:To prevent the formation of powder by cleaning the surfaces of a galvanized sheet treated by galvanealing with one or more brush rolls and by spraying a fluid before feeding the plate to skin pass rolls. CONSTITUTION:A galvanized sheet 1 passed through a galvanealing furnace enters a brush roll-cooling zone 20, where the surfaces of the sheet 1 are cleaned with one or more brush rolls 21. Each of the rolls 21 is placed opposite to a helper roll 22 made of rubber, and it is provided with a nylon brush or the like. Brushed powder is removed by spraying a cooling fluid, generally water on the surfaces of the sheet 1 from plural nozzles 23 arranged in the zone 20. The sheet 1 is then fed to skin pass rolls. |
