PURPOSE:To obtain a titled compact core having improved magnetic characteristics by annealing an Fe-Si-Al magnetic alloy ingot having a specific compsn. then grinding the ingot, molding the powder with a press and calcining the molding in a hydrogen atmosphere. CONSTITUTION:An Fe-Si-Al magnetic alloy ingot consisting essentially of 4- 13wt% Si, 4-7% Al and the balance Fe is annealed at 700-1,100 deg.C. The ingot is ground and the powder is mixed with a binder and is molded with a press. The molding is calcined at 600-800 deg.C in a hydrogen atmosphere, whereby the titled core is obtained. Said core of Fe-Si-Al has higher magnetic permeability and magnetic density, is approximately equal in power loss and DC weight and is obtainable at a lower cost as compared to the magnetic chaacteristics of conventional cores of molybdenum and ''Permalloy''. Said core is adaptable suitably to an inductor for a high frequency power source, an LC filter, etc. |
