PURPOSE:To aim at protecting a bearing againt dust and preventing the same from vibrating, by fixing a cross-sectionally bisected synthetic resin intermediate ring onto the outer peripheral surface of a resilient inner ring provided with a lip seal on its inner surface thereof, and by providing a cross-sectionally bisected synthetic resin around the intermediate ring, being slidably contacted with the latter. CONSTITUTION:A bearing for supporting a vehicle steering shaft, is composed of a resilient inner ring 1 provided on its inner diameter surface with a lip seal 5, a cross- sectionally bisected synthetic resin intermediate ring 4 and a cross- sectionally bisected synthetic resin outer ring 2. The above-mentioned inner ring 1 is formed on its outer peripheral surface with an engaging projecting part engaged in an engaging groove formed in the inner peripheral surface of the intermediate ring 4, and the inner ring 1 and the intermediate ring 4 are unrotatably fixed together. The inner peripheral surface of the outer ring 2 is slidably contacted with the outer peripheral surface of the intermediate ring 4. The outer ring 2 having a U-like cross-sectioned shape, has its inner peripheral edge which is a lip slidably contacted with and seals the inner periphery of the intermediate ring 4, and is formed with engaging parts 3 arranged to be fitted to another outer ring. Since the engaging parts 3 are outwardly projected from the outer peripheral surface of the outer ring 2, the bearing may be reliently engaged to a housing. |
