The present invention relates to a device and process for solution welding of plastic sealing sheets for applying a solvent or solvent mixture to the plastic sealing sheets which are to be overlapped, in order to effect their solution welding. The solution welding device consists of a frame having one or more transporting or supporting rolls, on which a supply tank and an application device for the solvent or solvent mixture are disposed. The application device consists of a roll or a cylinder. A shut-off and/or regulating device for regulating the flow rate of the solvent or solvent mixture is disposed directly on the supply tank or between the supply tank and the application device, the application device being connected by means of a spring clip to the frame. The cylindrical application device is made of a material that absorbs the solvent or solvent mixture or is covered on the external surface by this material. For example a felt roll is suitable. The cylinder is preferably attached to the end of the pipe for the solvent. The pipe is perforated at this point for the width of the attachment element.
