The invention relates to a control device for multipacking machines with an almost constantly moving supply belt and a multipacking table which is arranged at the outlet end of the supply belt, fans out in a longitudinally or transversely displaceable manner and is moved by means of a stepping drive gear system. The intention is to increase the lives of switching elements, while at the same time increasing the output of multipacking machines, which operate in cycles. The object of the invention is to reduce the switchability of couplings and of all switching elements. According to the invention, this problem is solved by mounting a set of contact discs comprising at least three contact discs on the drive shaft of a stepping drive switching mechanism, the circumference of which set of contact discs is divided into three switching areas and one non-switching area and the active surfaces of which set of contact discs interact with sensors. In particular, four contact discs are arranged, with the active surfaces of three contact discs arranged one behind the other and with three sensors being assigned to them in such a way that for each sensor one switching area and in the set of contact discs one non-switching area are available. The signals of the sensors are fed to a freely programmable control unit, by which all sequences of movements are controllable. <IMAGE>
