A paddle boat comprises a frame 10, a plurality of floats 30 mountable on the frame, and collapsible driving and propelling apparatus and folding steering apparatus mounted on the frame. Preferably, the driving and propelling apparatus comprises a folding rod 82, 84 defining a first rotation axis for a crank shaft 88 for pedals 92. A stationary extension element 102 provides a second rotation axis parallel to and spaced from the first rotation axis. A paddle 100 is mounted upon each of two arms, rods 110 being rotatably mounted onto the extension element and arranged for rotation about the second rotation axis through a restricted arc. A member slideable relative to each rod has fixedly mounted thereon one arm, whereby rotation of the arms about the first rotation axis causes the member to move slideably with relation to the rod and cause its rotation about the second rotation axis.
