<p>PURPOSE:To prepare novel betaenone A having an inhibitory action on the growth of plant seed, by cultivating a fungus belonging to the genus Phoma betae. CONSTITUTION:Phoma betae Frank PS-13 (PERM-P 6556) belonging to the genus Phoma betae is cultivated, to give novel physiologically active substance betaenone A having an inhibitory action on the growth of plant seed. Betaenone A has the following properties: shape; white bulky crystal, molecular formula; C21H36O5, solubility; soluble in methanol, ethanol, chloroform, and ethyl acetate, insoluble in n-hexaen, and water, color reaction; coloring in reddish purple with Ehrlich reagent, in yellow with 2,4-DNP reagent on silical gel thin layer chromatography, etc.</p> |
