In local data networks, it has hitherto been necessary to lay a separate cable for data transmission in addition to the power supply. In the case of premises which have not been prepared for the laying of additional cables, the outlay of this may exceed the costs of the network itself. The object of the invention is to solve this problem. The object is achieved by using the AC voltage system for data transmission also.
