PURPOSE:To improve safety, by providing a sorter with an interlock means which checks movement, being over a moving range, of a sheet housing part when said sheet housing part attempts to move exceeding the predetermined moving range. CONSTITUTION:A sorter is formed such that a plurality of trays 4 (4-1-4-10), disposed in a multistage, are fastened to an elevating member 6 which is adapted to elevate along a stay 7 via the medium of a chain 10 through running of a drive motor 12. In which case, the elevating member 6 is formed in a ?-shape in cross section, notched recesses for detecting the positions of the trays 4 are provided in the side wall at equal intervals along a longitudinal direction, and a position detecting sensor 16-1 for detecting the notched recess is located in some appropriate position of the stay 7. Further, position detecting sensors 16-2 and 16-3 for specifying the upper and lower limit positions of the elevating member 6 are installed on the tray 7. The drive motor 12 is controlled so that it stops running immediately when the position detecting sensor 16-2 or 16-3 actuates. |
