PURPOSE:To wind film on a core stably by varying the traveling speed of a cutter, which traverses and cuts the running film in the direction of the width of said film and forming a small triangled area in a place where cutting is started. CONSTITUTION:In a unit in which a cutter traverses and cuts running thermoplastic film 90 in the direction of its width, and the cutoff film 90 is wound up on a core, the traveling speed of the cutter is made variable from (a)-(h) in alphabetical order in the pattern as shown in the figure, allowing the cutter to travel transversely in accordance with this pattern. Accordingly, the cutter first starts to cut the film 90 at an angle of 40-50 deg., preferably about 45 deg. with the base line 20 of the film 90 forming a triangular area d1 on said line 20. Then, cutting is performed in such a way that a cutting line 10 is at an angle theta2 of 60-70 deg. with the base line 20 before the cutting operation is completed. |
