<p>The method and device for the, electropneumatic testing of the air permeability of filter plugs (F) for filter cigarettes, resides in the fact that at one end of the filter plug (F) there is applied a pneumatic pressure, and the other end of the filter cigarette is connected, through a bore (17) with the atmosphere. The pneumatic pressure applied at the inlet end of the cigarette plug (F) is transformed into an electric test signal (transducer T), and the said signal is compared with an upper alarm threshold and with a higher upper reject threshold (variable resistors 132 and 131 respectively) J as well as with a lower alarm threshold (variable resistor 133) and with an inferior lower reject threshold (variable resistor 134). The test signal emitted upon reaching of the upper or lower alarm threshold promotes the operation of alarm indicators (46, 50) and/or sends a signal for the control of the filter plug producing machine, so as to modify the air permeability of the filter plugs (F), while upon reaching of the upper or lower reject threshold, it causes the rejection of the defective filter plugs.</p> |
