PURPOSE:To shorten axial length, and to miniaturize the size of a machine and reduce the quantity of coils by dividing an upper port coil into a plurality of strand groups in the circumferential direction and arranging each strand group in the same row in the radial direction in a coil end section. CONSTITUTION:The upper port coil 9 and a lower port coil 4 are encased into a slot 2 formed concavely to an armature coil 1. The upper port coil 9 is divided into a plurality of strand groups such as the right sides 9a and the left sides 9b while the strand width of each strand group 9a, 9b is made equal to that of the lower port coil 4, an the number of strands of each strand group 9a, 9b is made equal to that of the lower port coil 4. The left strand groups 9a and right strand groups 9b of the upper port coil 9 are brazed to risers 6 together with the lower port coil 4 under the state in which both groups are arranged in the same row in the radial direction in the coil end section. Accordingly, the finishing width of the upper port coil 9 is halved, and a torsional angle is enlarged, thus shortening the axial direction of the coil. |
