PURPOSE:To make power monitor feasible estimating the power in case of emitting laser beams manufacturing safety laser conveniently useful even if a shutter is closed to stop emission of main beams by a method wherein, when a shutter is closed, the main beams are disconnected not to be emitted from an output mirror while continuing laser oscillation with a new resonator comprising a mirror and a shutter. CONSTITUTION:A shutter member 10 is arranged in a resonator to be inserted or removed freely making its reflecting surface opposite to a semi-transparent mirror 2. The shutter member 10, if removed from the resonator, is normally oscillated with its main beam strength monitored by a power meter 8 while if inserted into the resonator, the main beams are disconnected by an overall reflecting mirror 11 not to be emitted from an outside mirror 4 turning into OFF status. Nevertheless, the resonator made of the overall reflecting surface of the overall reflecting mirror 11 and the reflecting surface of the semi-transparent mirror 2 makes the laser continue the oscillation thereof. Therefore a part of the laser beams emitted from said semi-transparent mirror 2 to the rear part of the resonator comes into the power meter 8 monitoring the output while the main beams are turned OFF. |
