The bristle feed unit is for a brush making machine. It comprises a vertical guide on the machine for bristle contg. cassettes. An assembly temporarily holds a cassette adjacent to the bristle magazine of the machine and remove it when empty. This cassette is pressed against the magazine and locates, guides and supports it in that position. An actuator operates a slidable pressure element acting on the contents of that cassette. This transfers the bristles into the magazine. The cassette thus emptied is returned into line with the other cassettes when the location is withdrawn. FL.
