The invention concerns a method for control of a welding process with power tapped from a direct current network with sliding contact, and an arrangement for carrying out the method. During the method according to the invention, the number and the alternating sequence of zero and one intervals of the power supply voltage is changed at the instant a welding arc is generated, and this step is carried out for the purpose of varying the amplitude of the output voltage with regard to the current. The arrangement according to the invention contains a pickup 43 which indicates presence of current in a welding circuit, and an arrangement 57 for setting the duration of the operating condition of power switches 2, 4, 3, 5 and switching thyristors 13, 14, 10, 11, which is determined by the number and the alternating sequence of zero and one intervals of the power supply current, depending on the stage of the welding process. <IMAGE> |
