PURPOSE:To enable the control of shape at a high degree and to improve working efficiency by making combination use of work roll shifting and work roll bending. CONSTITUTION:Upper and lower work rolls 1, 2 are moved equally in an axial line direction in the directions opposite from each other to set the points of inflection between the tapered or sinusoidal parts and straight parts of the rolls 1, 2 in the prescribed position within the width of a rolled material S in the case of providing an equivalent crown effect. If the material is rolled in this state, the equivalent crown effect is given to the rolls 1, 2; therefore, shape defects such as edge waves and middle waviness are corrected more easily. If there is no need for obtaining the quivalent crown effect, the material is rolled after the size between the points of inflection of the rolls 1, 2 is made to coincide approximately with the width of the rolled material. |
