PURPOSE:To imrpve electrification characteristics and to lower the density of ozone produced around an electrifying line, by setting the heights of side walls of an electrifier case on an upstream and a downstream side of the flow of copying paper to satisfy a specific conditions, and improving the structure of an insulating pawl. CONSTITUTION:An electrifier 1 for copying paper separation is so constituted that H>h, H>h', and h>h', where (h) is the height of the side wall 1c on the upstream side of the flow of the copying paper, (h') is the height of the side wall 1d on the downstream side, and H is the distance from the bottom surface 1b to the electrifying line 6. When an AC high voltage is impressed to the electrifying line 6 in this constitution, a current current Ip to the copying paper 5 increases to improve copying paper separation performance and the produced ozone is easy to stay at the lower part and discharged easily in a wind flow direction to decrease the ozone density effectively. |
