PURPOSE:To obtain a heat-sensitive transfer recording medium capable of reproducing legible high-quality pictures interms of color tone and density by coating plural heat-sensitive ink layers having the same color tones but different melting points on a supporter orderly from the ink layers having higher melting points in a laminating manner. CONSTITUTION:Plural ink layers having the same color tones (of main absorbance wave length difference of 5nm preferably) but different melting points (of a melting point difference of 10 deg.C or more preferably) are coated orderly on a supporter (e.g., a 60mum thick or less usual paper with smooth surface, PE film, etc.) from heat-sensitive ink layers having higher melting points in a laminating manner to form a coat with a thickness of 2-8mum. An objective recording medium is obtained. Said heat-sensitive ink layers are preferably formed by the hot melt-coating of a composition consisting of 2-25wt% a pigment or dye, 5-55wt% a binder (e.g., paraffin wax, etc.), 5-40wt% a softening agent, and 0.1-10wt% a heat-conductive substance (e.g., Al, Cu, etc.). EFFECT:Good pictures can be obtained even for line, solid and photographic pictures. |
