PURPOSE:To improve moldability, sinterability and grindability of a grind stone and prolong its life-time by mixing a specific amount of powder of a soft metal such as a copper-tin alloy into powder of a hard metal and forming metallic bonds therebetween. CONSTITUTION:As a metallic bond material, a mixture of powder of a hard metal such as iron, cobalt, nickel or an alloy thereof with a specific amount of powder of a soft metal such as a copper-tin alloy is prepared. This powdery mixture for the metallic bond material is mixed with diamond grains together with a lubricant, and molded and sintered to obtain a grinding wheel with excellent grindability and a long life-time. |
