METHOD AND DEVICE FOR PRODUCING OPTICAL FIBER CABLE

PURPOSE:To obtain a titled cable which is free from deterioration in transmission characteristics, etc. by feeding a tape fiber assemblage while rotating a supply bobbin wound with said assemblage around the feeding direction and further twisting and sheathing the assemblage. CONSTITUTION:A tape fiber assemblage 1 is fed from a supply bobbin 5 and is passed through a forming die 9 so that the assemblage is twisted by the rotation of the bobbin 5 and the die 9. The assemblage in such a state is bundled with a tape winder 10 and is sheathed with a sheath covering device 12 while having twists so as to be formed into a cable 13. The cable 13 is cooled 14, is drawn out with a capstan 15 and is coiled on a take-up bobbin 16. The bobbin 5 and the die 9 are controlled to the same number of revolutions if the assemblage wound on the bobbin 5 is not twisted during said time. The number of revolutions of the die 9 is controlled to the number of revolutions of the sum or difference of the number of revolutions of the bobbin 5 and the number of revolutions of the assemblage 1 corresponding to the twisting and feeding speed of the assemblage 1 to be fed when the assemblage 1 is beforehand twisted slightly.
