PURPOSE:To change a period of a system clock for one clock cycle, to arbitrarily adjust a signal to be output from the system clock, to release the constraint for a device to be connected to an external load, and satisfactorily apply the characteristics of CPU. CONSTITUTION:This microprocessor is equipped with a machine cycle setting storage section 1 for storing therein data specified by a period of each machine cycle, a shift register section 2 that stores data specified by one machine cycle fetched from the machine cycle setting memory section 1 and that outputs data one by one bit in a predetermined timing, a system clock generating section 3 for changing a clock cycle of each machine cycle based on data output from the shift register 2, and an input/output control circuit 4 that controls writing data to which a clock cycle is specified by an instruction issued to the machine cycle setting memory section 1, that outputs data specified by one machine cycle to the shift register section, and that controls the output one by one bit. |
