PURPOSE:To make the efficiency of electric discharge machining improvable yet higher even in case of a large volume of stock removal required, by using a reticulate electrode and making the electrode and a workpiece so as to perform a relative motion toward a void in meshes. CONSTITUTION:Electric discharge machining takes place for a workpiece 3 with a reticulate electrode 11 in a direction of depth at the outset. Next, with the workpiece machined as moving in a void direction and also moving in a depth direction, the workpiece is finished as in (d) of a desired machined form 6 (see illustration). With this method, there is unnecessary to machine the whole volume of stock removal. |
