PURPOSE:To constitute a multi-tank type electrolytic cell free from the leakage of a liquid and capable of using a flat ion exchange membrane, by a method wherein an anode is attached to a frame for constituting the anode chamber of a conventional electrolytic cell to which an asbesto diaphragm method is applied through a current supply rod and the current supply rod, an anode liquid supply port and a liquid-gas discharge port are provided to the frame. CONSTITUTION:Plural ion exchange membranes 17 used in the electrolysis of an aqueous solution are held between a frame 13 for constituting a cathode chamber and a frame 3 for constituting an anode chamber alternately in a watertight and airtight manner. Cathode metal nets 14 are respectively provided to the front and the back surfaces of the frame 13 for constituting the cathode chamber under tension and a current collector, a cathode liquid supply port 21, a cathode liquid and gas discharge port 22 and a perforated support member 23 are provided to the frame 3. An anode 5 is attached to the frame 3 for constituting the anode chamber through a current supply rod 6 and, other than this current supply rod 6, an anode liquid supply port 9 and an anode liquid and gas discharge port 20 are provided thereto. |
