PURPOSE:To make available to cut off a fuel flow earlier than otherwise at the time of deceleration, by arranging such that a decelerating operation can be detected from the opening amount of throttle valve, a fuel injection quantity and an engine speed for thereby cutting off a fuel injection. CONSTITUTION:A routine procedure for verifying a fuel cut is described hereinbelow. In a step 21, verification is effected as to whether the opening amount TA of throttle valve is smaller than the opening amount TALL at its full closure with a prescribed value being added. If the result of verification is YES, a further verfication is carried out in a step 202 as to whether a fuel injection timing TAU is shorter than a minimum fuel injection timing TAU min. The result is YES, an engine speed NE is judged in a step 203 whether it is slower than a predetermined speed NELVL. If the results of these three verifications are all proved to be affirmative, a fuel cut is effected in a step 204. In this manner, a fuel flow can be cut earlier than otherwise. |
